Recruitment Privacy Notice

This notice explains how Kura Asset Managers handles your personal information when you apply for a role with us. It applies to applications made through this website.

We handle personal data in line with the Data Protection and Privacy Act, Cap. 97 of the Laws of Uganda, and the guidance of the National Information Technology Authority – Uganda (NITA-U).

Who we are

Kura Asset Managers is a fund management company licensed and regulated by the Capital Markets Authority of Uganda. We are the data controller for the information described in this notice.

What we collect

  • Your name, email address and telephone number
  • Your CV, and any other document you choose to upload
  • Your answers to the questions on the application form, including your years of relevant experience
  • The role you applied for, and the date you applied
  • Notes and assessments recorded by our hiring team as your application progresses

We do not ask for your national identification number, date of birth, marital status, religion or political affiliation as part of an application. Please do not include information of that kind in your CV or answers.

Why we collect it

  • To assess your suitability for the role you applied for
  • To contact you about your application, including to confirm we received it and to tell you the outcome
  • To keep a record of our hiring decisions, as good practice and to meet our obligations as a regulated business

We collect it on the basis of the consent you give when you submit your application, and our legitimate interest in filling the role. You can withdraw your consent at any time — see Your rights below.

Who sees it

Your application is visible only to the Kura staff involved in hiring for the role you applied to. Access is limited by role: not everyone who can sign in to our recruitment system can open a CV or see an applicant's contact details.

We do not share your application with anyone outside Kura, we do not sell it, and we do not use it for marketing.

Where it is stored

Our recruitment system is operated for us by Supabase, and our email is sent through Resend. Both process your data only on our instructions and under contractual data-protection commitments.

Application data is stored on servers in the European Union. Where your information is transferred outside Uganda in this way, we take steps to ensure it remains protected to a standard consistent with Ugandan law.

How we protect it

Your CV is held in private storage and is never publicly accessible. It can only be opened by an authorised member of the hiring team, through a link that expires after a short period. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is logged.

How long we keep it

If you are not successful, we keep your application for 12 months from the date the role closes, so that we can consider you for similar positions and answer any question about how the decision was made. After that we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.

If you join Kura, your application becomes part of your employment record and is kept under our employee data policy.

You can ask us to delete your application sooner at any time.

Automated decisions

We do not make hiring decisions by automated means. Every application is read by a person.

Your rights

Under the Data Protection and Privacy Act you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy
  • Ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete
  • Ask us to delete your application
  • Withdraw your consent, at which point we stop considering your application and delete it

Write to hr@kuraassetmanagers.com and we will respond. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your request, you may complain to the National Information Technology Authority – Uganda (NITA-U).

A note on recruitment fraud

Kura never charges candidates a fee at any stage of recruitment. We will never ask you to make a payment, and we will never ask for your bank details, card details or passwords as part of an application. If you receive a message claiming to be from Kura and asking for money, it is not from us — please tell us at hr@kuraassetmanagers.com.
